Breaking! Sonu Nigam Shaves Off His Head Following Azaan Controversy- See Photos

Nigam on Monday had posted a series of tweets expressing his disgust for Muslims using loudspeakers for azaan (call for prayers) in mosques and likened the act to gundagardi. Cleric Syed Sha Atef Ali Al Quaderi took exception to that, and announced a reward of Rs 10 lakh to anybody who would tonsure Nigam and garland him with a string of old shoes.

Sonu Nigam again tweeted as Aalim will come to his place today at 2 PM to shave his head. "I am not against azaan, only the use of loudspeakers". Also said that this is not a revenge but a message of love.

Speaking to the press before his haircut, Sonu Nigam said, "Shaving hair is no challenge or negativity, it's a symbolic move - asking, what are you making this country?"

Actor-comedian Sunil Grover might be keeping away from reacting on his spat with Kapil Sharma, but he surely had something to say on the Sonu Nigam row. "When will this forced religiousness end in India", Nigam had tweeted.

He claimed that when he spoke about loudspeakers, he had mentioned temples and gurudwaras too. I'm not cutting my hair against my will.

Nigam kept his word and shaved off his head just prior to addressing a media conference at his residence where police had beefed up security after his tweets raked up a huge ruckus. Why do I have to have this cacophony after Edison?" "Why then.? Honest? True?"

"I don't think my religion is the best and yours isn't".

Even Singer Mika Singh slammed Nigam and asked him to shift to somewhere else.
