'Fate of the Furious' races to biggest global box office opening ever

The Rock and Vin Diesel have buried the hatchet and both will star in the next installment of the insanely popular "Fast and the Furious" franchise. sources involved in the production tell TMZ.
"Beauty" earned another $13.7 million to bring its five-week domestic take to $454.7 million but, as with "The Fate of the Furious", the Disney fairytale starring Emma Watson and Dan Stevens is doing its biggest business overseas.
The movie knocked down JJ Abram's ' Star Wars: The Force Awakens' to nab the first position, which garnered 529 million Dollars in the opening weekend.
The final numbers showed the Universal film earning 100.2 million USD domestically and 432.2 million USD overseas for a global total of 532.5 million USD.
It smashed the global opening record meanwhile, with a ludicrous (or is that Ludacris?) $432.3 million dwarfing the $316.7 million managed by Jurassic World, the previous holder.
Fate of the Furious continues to outpace Star Wars: The Force Awakens \/em in terms of the earnings speed; by this time in that film\u0027s release, domestic earnings were $98.78 million and worldwide earnings were $529 million.
