Microsoft Modifies Windows 10 Installation Using Just Voice

Microsoft has already been rolling out a smart home strategy via its Cortana voice assistant and with today's Creators Update release, the addition of Cortana to its Windows 10 IoT core stands as a big enhancement to Windows 10 features.

The Windows Creators Update has finally gone live. This means the new update will not bring any changes for majority of windows users.

Microsoft has just rolled out it's Windows 10 Creators Update that, as the name suggests, is an update that's geared more towards creators.

The ISOs for these downloads are available in English (US/UK), Chinese (Simplified/Traditional), French, German, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Spanish, and Portuguese (Brazil). It will now be possible for users to set up a new Windows 10 PC with voice commands by using Cortana.

If you're not in any great rush to upgrade - or you'd simply prefer to see how the Creators Update fares on other users' PCs, before taking the plunge - you don't need to do anything but wait for the update to be made available to your machine.

According to a Forbes report, the Windows 10 Creators Update also allows users to pair their smartphones and enable remote locking capability.

Microsoft's browser, Edge gets a few updates, but you'll still use Chrome.

With the Creators Update bringing no new features to phones, Microsoft cutting support for several Windows phones, and still no word from Microsoft on the future of Windows 10 Mobile, it's no surprise that some fans aren't feeling too good about the platform right now.

The Windows 10 Pause Update button isn't the indefinite update stopper that many users still cry out for. However, to support the digital assistant the developer's device should run on Windows 10 IoT core.

If you don't intend to use this feature, you can also mute the instructions being given by Cortana and instead opt for the age-old manual method of installation.

In case you think you would doing much better without some voice instructions and is used to the traditional, all these year-old processes of setting up your PC, you can just switch off the voice help and continue doing things in your way anytime in the middle of the process. A new world of mixed reality experience is waiting for you.

Microsoft has a dedicated landing page for Windows 10 ISO files, which lets you download both the 32-bit and 64-bit Windows 10 Creators Update, Windows 10 Creators Update N and Windows 10 Creators Update Single Language ISO files without messing around with the Media Creation Tool.
