Players will be able to command High Elves, Dark Elves, Lizardmen and a mysterious fourth army that is yet to be revealed.
According to the developers, Warhammer II will offer a new style of gameplay alongside the usual Total War.
Looks like we'll be seeing "Naggaroth, Lustria, Ulthuan and the Southlands" on the Warhammer 2 map.
Total War: Warhammer was a big success when it launched past year, receiving critical acclaim and becoming the fastest-selling Total War game ever.
"Players will struggle for dominion over the ailing Great Vortex that has swirled for millennia above the elven homeland of Ulthuan", continues Sega.
Creative Assembly past year released Total War: Warhammer, which was well received throughout the gaming community as one of the best Total War games to date. This "struggle culminat [es] in a cataclysmic endgame".
Indeed, if you happen to be a big fan and own Warhammer II and the first game, a free update will arrive soon after launch that will allow you to play through the new campaigns as any of the four races mentioned. "Territorial conquest is no longer enough... this is a race for control that will define the fate of the world".
Creative Assembly is back with another game in its trademark Total War series.
Once again, each race will have two Legendary Lord options (at first, anyway), and "a distinctive new playstyle with unique campaign mechanics, narrative, methods of war, armies, monsters, Lores of Magic, legendary characters, and staggering new battlefield bombardment abilities". After the game launches, owners of the original game and the new game will both get access to the combined campaign of both games- which is a damn awesome move on Sega's part.
