BSNL beats Jio and Airtel, offers 56GB data for Rs 339

The current offer of Rs. 339 gives the users unlimited calls to local and STD numbers and that is limited to BSNL numbers, and along with that, 1GB data for the entire month was available. Bharti, as market leader, is not only taking the lead to counter Jio but appears to be the most aggressive.

The data provided by Airtel under this offer is free, and users will have to claim this before 31st March 2017.

Reliance Jio offers 1GB of 4G data every day plus unlimited free calls to all networks till March 31.

While private telecom operators like Airtel, Idea, and Vodafone are stepping up efforts to face the looming danger from Reliance Jio, state-owned telecom company BSNL has been dormant.

Jio had launched the inaugural free voice and data plan in September past year, and in December, extended the freebies till March, 2017. Its high-decibel launch prompted frenzied advertising by its main rivals, Bharti Airtel Ltd, Idea Cellular Ltd and Vodafone India Ltd. Idea and Vodafone have since announced their intent to merge.

The benefits get for the BSNL customers will get unlimited calls to BSNL network under this combo STV of Rs. 339. Now, according to the regulations, operators can have testing period, but when Jio launched the Welcome Offer, incumbent operators filed a petition to TDSAT alleging that TRAI acted as a mute spectator when the new telecom operator announced its plans. The "free" calling is not unlimited as initially advertised by BSNL.

BSNL said that the data of 2 GB per day is one of the best in the industry. "We offer best prices to our customers considering the present trend of Indian telecom industry". Therefore, from second month onwards, subscribers can use 20GB - 10GB of the previous month and 10GB of the ongoing month.
