Riverside police identified the woman as 31-year-old Chiengkham Vilaysane.

"I saw this lady and her daughter was running around and I said, 'Your daughter is running around insane, ' and she said, 'Yup, she's always doing that'". Now, they are asking for the public's help in finding the the person who allegedly abandoned their child.

Colby Dee Mattsson was on the clock Sunday night at Food for Less in Riverside and noticed the mother and daughter in the store. The mother, according to the witness said, "Oh, just leave her".

Officers were called to the store when the child was found alone.

The toddler has not been reported as missing and is now in the custody of Child Protective Services. Vilaysane told the woman, "Oh, just leave her", according to police.

Police say the suspect walked into the store with her child and then the child wandered off.

The girl was able to identify the woman as her "mommy" when she was shown a photo from the surveillance video.

The child identified her own mom on the security video. She could face allegations of felony child endangerment or abandonment.

"It's sad, it's heartbreaking because I don't see how any human could abandon their child".

As of Monday evening, police said the toddler had still not been reported as missing.

One Facebook page lists Vilaysane as working for the Riverside County Sheriff's Department; the department said she had never been employed there.
