And for those interested in her origin story, look no further!
She will have a few abilities at her disposal.
Update: Orisa is available to try out in the PTR, which has been flooded by players since her reveal. In a developer update, Jeff Kaplan goes through some of the inspiration for Orisa, which you can watch in the video below, but I'll go over a few of the main points if you don't have time to watch the almost thirteen minute video. Also check out our screenshots of all of Orisa's skins.
Fusion Driver - Orisa's automatic projectile cannon delivers sustained damage, but slows her movement while she fires it.
The Alt-Fire for Fusion Drive works like a mini gravitation surge than can help her reposition the targets. Furthermore, Orisa will be able to protect her teammates like a true tank should with a large protective barrier.
This ability is similar to Zarya's ult, except there's no duration to it. Detonating the pulse sucks in any enemies nearby, and with some skill can be used to pull them out of cover or into an environmental hazard. Depending on its range, it's seems pretty powerful. While Orisa has proven her worth as a defender of the people, her new personality core and omnic inexperience make the huge robot an occasional liability to those around her. I'm not suggesting you won't see the likes of Winston, D.Va or Reinhardt (Reinhardt will always have a place), but I think we'll see them a damn sight less.
This was also reflected in-game, with the airport in the map showcasing the carnage. The cooldown is eight seconds. This immunity would presumably apply to sleep darts and hacking, as well. Fortify is like an instant temporary armor which reduces damage.
However, unbeknownst to us, she's the creater behind Orisa, and teased her existence in that blog post.
Our thoughts after testing it: The bots didn't pose much of a challenge with or without this buff. Tell us what you think in the comment section below, or on Google+, Facebook, or Twitter. While it's hard to know exactly how she'll fit into team compositions (the PTR really isn't an ideal environment for testing) it's evident she will unseat Winston and D.Va and to some extent, Reinhardt too. She follows Ana and Sombra, who are a support sniper and an offensive hacker respectively. Admittedly Winston's Barrier Projector was nerfed as a result of hero stacking, but it does demonstrate how strong she is out of the gates.
