Andromeda Trailer Explores the Galaxy

BioWare today released the third part in its gameplay video series for Mass Effect: Andromeda. With elements from survival games like temperature that actually affects your health, the trailer shows how the player must be prepared and to play it safe out in the deserts of the Krogan planet.

BioWare has said from the beginning that the Nomad is not just a simple replacement for the Mako from Mass Effect 1, and here we get to see how it differs. To counteract this, you'll need to lay down forward stations at pre-designated spots. But not every rock you land on will be a ideal fit - you'll need to do some work to make them viable homes.

While exploring, one of your objectives will be to discover locations where you can call down Forward Stations.

As evidenced in Mass Effect: Andromeda's "Exploration & Discovery" trailer, the Tempest gives players an expanded, real-time look at everything going on outside the ship, which is a departure from the views that could be had on the Normandy vessel from the franchise's previous entries. These not only act as fast travel points where you can resupply and change your loadouts, but will even protect you from the harsh climate. Exploration has always been a major part of the franchise, less so in Mass Effect 3, but it looks like the game is going back to some of its roots.

Depending on your actions on Elaaden, you can lead to "increased viability" for the planet as a whole.

Your exploration and discoveries will also give you Andromeda viability points. Which colonists you decide to wake up determines what perks and advantages you'll be able to utilize.

Mass Effect: Andromeda comes out on the 27th March 2017.
