Dash cam shows Officer Chris Womack jump a curb in his patrol vehicle and approach the truck engulfed in flames.

Around 9 p.m. Saturday, February 11, officers responded to the Jack in the Box located at 1703 S. Beckley Rd.

When he arrived at the scene, Womack found a Ford truck engulfed in flames dangerously close to the restaurant, with flames licking the side of the building.

A quick-thinking Texas police officer is being praised for using his patrol vehicle to push a pickup engulfed in flames away from a fast-food restaurant, preventing the fire from spreading. The driver managed to escape but the fire was quickly spreading, threatening to catch the building on fire as well.

Because of Officer Womack's quick thinking nobody in the restaurant or the drive-through was injured and there was no damage to the restaurant. But in the video, I've watched it a couple of times, I'm breathing pretty heavily.

The Glenn Heights Police Department posted the video on its Facebook and wrote, "I would like to commend Officer Chris Womack".
