This will be Arsenal's fourth Champions League assignment in Bayern's magnificent Allianz Arena since 2013, with the 5-1 drubbing they received on their last visit there two seasons ago a painful reminder of what may lie in wait this time.
And despite much speculation about his future in recent weeks, Wenger has not been short of admirers in the build up to the clash at the Allianz Arena.
Indeed, there's probably an argument to make that if Arsenal are to save their husk of a season and finish in the top 4, Wenger shouldn't be on the flight home. The 67-year-old Wenger has won six FA Cups with Arsenal to go with the three EPL titles, but a European title has eluded him.

"Yes, we've had bad experiences against them", he told the club's official website.

"It's a massive challenge, but we are capable of dealing with it".
"I felt he did not feel confident (against Hull)", Wenger said of the German worldwide after the 2-0 win over Hull on Saturday. My team for the game on Wednesday will be....
Wenger's side beat Munich 2-0 during the group stages last term and will be hoping to produce the same sort of display this time round. When the Round of 16 draw was announced, Arsenal tweeted, "We'll play @FCBayern (AGAIN!) in the last of 16".
